Goverment LPG Vehicle Grants
Since Monday 14 August 2006 the Federal Government have provided grants for the
purchase of an LPG vehicle or the conversion of a vehicle to run on LPG.
The grants include the following:

$1,000 toward the purchase cost of a new LPG-dedicated or dual-fuel
(petrol/LPG)vehicle for non-business use

$2,000 toward the cost of approved and fitted LPG conversion of a motor vehicle
for non-business use
To be eligible the vehicle must be for private use (not for commercial or
business use) and:

Any passenger or light commercial vehicle weighing less than 3.5 tonnes Gross
Vehicle Mass

Must be registered in the state of residence of the claimant

The vehicle must not be subject to a novated lease or salary sacrifice

One conversion per person every three years These grants will be available for
a period of 8 years, so there is plenty of time to get LPG for your vehicle.
You will need to pay for the LPG conversion first and then claim back the grant
from either a Centrelink or Medicare office. Applications can be submitted from
1 October 2006 and you will need a receipt for the installation or purchase
showing a payment date of 14 Aug 2006 or later.
